St. Anne is a village in located in the South East Corner of  Kankakee County.  The population was 1,212 at the 2000 census.  It is part of the Kankakee –Bradley metropolitan Statistical Area.  The village, founded in 1850 by a French Canadian Roman Catholic priest and friend of Abraham Lincoln by the name of Charles Chiniquy.
